Pickles, Schmickles

There is nothing like homeade pickles. I made 2 batches two weeks ago, and now we are dwindling down to our last straggler in the jar. I threw in some pepper, garlic, dill, vinegar, salt, sugar (just a tiny bit, i hate sweet pickels), and water. Well, and of course pickling cucumbers! These bad boys only need a day or two until they are ready and they last 2-3 weeks, if they even stick around that long. Plus, they literally take 5 minutes to make.

Dill: Dill is easiest plant to grown on the planet. Plus it turns into a monster weed if you let it flower/seed out. Honestly, you almost couldnt kill it if you tried. Our froze back already, and has re-flushed out.











 These dill "weeds" are right under my dill pot. Burk has been know to dig a few (ha, i wish) holes, and will come inside when i get home reeking of dill. At least is a refreshing smell. I seeded these and within 2 weeks they were a few inches tall. We love our herbs, and can not wait for our basil again in the spring!
Man, I cannot believe i just admitted we have weeds. Jacob, hop on that!
