Chalkboard Paint

This stuff is kickass. It was one of my Christmas presents from the handsome hubs. He does listen (sometimes) when i talk!
Jacob has been on a hog hunt all weekend, so out of stir-crazy boredom, i decided i would chalkboard paint all my spice jars. And then my flour bins. And then my herb name plates. And some mason jars. And then i was going to do the inside of my pantry door, but i figured i should think on that one a little more. Then i was going to do a wall in the laundry room. Luckily, i got a work phone call and had to leave or half my house would be covered.

I hit each of the items with 2 layers of paint, which seemed to be perfect.

Finished products!
Im still thinking i want to do the inside of my pantry door, but we have really nice wooden doors. What do you think??

Our handy work

A few months back, my dad dropped off a bunch of old barn wood he found out at the deer lease, knowing i would do something with it. I have become very friendly with our saw-zaw, electric screw driver, and spray paint. I love spray paint. ALOT. I guess that makes me somewhat lazy, but hey, im cool with it.
Here are a few of the items we have handcrafted over the past few weekends...

This was a beautiful old gate door!
So, its not wood, but i turned an old salsa jar into this. Cute huh?
One of my dads friends is really great at metal work, so he made us this A&M crest. I threw a few pieces of old pallet wood on the back to make it pop on the wall.

Its Gardening Time Again

Whelp, sorry guys, its been way too long since i have posted anything! Don't worry, i am back in action and ready for some posting!

Since in Texas there is no such thing as winter, i have had gardening on my mind recently. My lovely husband even built me a new garden!! Its perfect, and i love it. Its about 8'x4' and took us about 20 minutes to put together.

So far i have installed...
Bell Pepper, Tomato
Broccoli
Butter lettuce

Artichoke

Spinach, jalapenos, carrots, onions, and along the back are Larkspur

Even some Wheatgrass
I will keep you posted with how everything is doing. Its "raining" right now, but it was supposed to rain ALL day...
All my bulbs are starting to come up as well. Daffodils and Tulips. I cannot wait!

Burk

Its kind of ridiculous how much we love our dog. He is the goofiest, most handsome, weird, loving guy out there and he makes my heart melt every time i get to cuddle with him. He is 150% spoiled, by us, and especially both sets of dog-grandparents. At this moment he is moving around the blinds at the back door, in his bratty way of saying "let me out, now."
Burk's 3rd birthday is coming up this month. Its crazy to think that we have only had him for 3 years, when he is so much a part of our life. There is nothing like walking in the door after an awful day at work, and having Burk be so excited that we are home, and filling our legs and body with slobbery kisses. Hes a mess, always. Drooling. While we eat, he stares and drools. Its somewhat embarrassing when guests are over..."dont mind the drool! Do watch out if he shakes his head though..." Sorry!
We had a little scare a few weeks ago, and he was lost for a little over a day. We were all a mess! He was out at the lake and had a seizure, and just took off. The vet says that they just wake up after the seizure is over, and are lost. After tons of searching, crying and praying we found him! Praise the Lord. Dont know what we would do without this crazy guy.

Love you Burk, and Happy 3rd Birthday-ish!

This shows how spoiled the guy is. I made him homeade dog treats the other day.

They smelled pretty good too as they were baking in the oven. Its pumpkin, peanut butter, whole wheat flour and 2 eggs. Smelled like fall! And they passed the Burk and Odie test.

Milk Glass- My New Crush

I have been thinking about collecting milk glass for a while now, I just havent found the perfect first piece to get me started. Welp, i found it! Im obsessed!
Isnt it awesome!?!

I also got this pineapple vase, that is so beautiful!

The perfect first pieces for my collection

In my kitchen i have a stained glass cabinet, which i love the character it gives. The only thing is, i really want a glass cabinet which i can show off some of my favorite pieces. Do you think i should switch over to glass?

Hmmmmm..... What do you think?

Box of Goodies

Thanks to the lovely Michelle Grant, i got a nice surprise on my front porch a few weeks ago! A box full of fun little shabby chic items, including one lovely little chandelier...and you know what i think of them!
I love the blue, but i am going to put it in my already very blue laundry room.
So, white it is.
After a few coats of spray paint...
Now i just need to get a few candles.
What color?
We basically use our garage door as our front door, so this little gem is the first thing i see when i get home. Thanks again Michelle! Love it!
