A Piece from My Past

Pure beauty, in a teacup. I feel so blessed to have my grandmothers china. It is so girly. Its pink! Every time i drink my coffee out of them, i wonder if it makes my grandma smile up in heaven. Makes me wonder if one day my granddaughter will love my style and enjoy something i was able to pass down to her...

I have been looking for a while for the perfect china cabinet/buffet table that I can showcase them in. Right now they are just in the kitchen closet, hiding themselves, waiting for their big debut. Hopefully soon, i will have them out along with a few pieces from Jacobs grandmother and my great Aunt ToTo.

Good Ol' Tin Ceiling Tiles

Some of my favorite things in my house are my old tin ceiling tiles. I got them from my favorite antique shop out in Johnson City. The awesome lady who works there knows where everything is from (or at least shes really good at making it up)! Apparently, the two end tiles i bought "are very rare since i have two."
My Mom and I walked out of there with like 10 tiles.
My mom bought a bunch of these skinny tiles, and glued some real fun things on, like this one my mom made for me! She also put on metal crosses, rusty metal snowflakes (for Christmas decor), and i bet it would also be really cute to use it as a magnet board--time out, will magnets stick to tin?? Dont judge me if that is a stupid question.
Enjoy your Wednesday, we half way there folks!!

Two Years Ago, Today

Love my hubby so much, and cannot believe its been two years since we got married. This almost marks about 10 years of being together as well. Time flyssss. Just remembering the honeymoon, and being so jealous of myself right now as i sit at work...
We started out in Rome, then Vernatza, Arles France, and finished up in Barcelona. Heaven.

Enjoying our Outdoors

With the weather the way it has been lately, we must take advantage of it! I love sitting out on the back patio, drinking coffee or eating dinner. If only it was like this year round.
After the drought last year, i decided that all my pots are going to be filled with succulants. Just makes sense. Every time we would go out to the lake on the weekends, we came home to flat plants. Not this year!
I love this little pot. I got it from Anthropoligie last year for $8.
As i am sitting out on the back porch tying this, i realized that these citronella candles are pretty worthless...uggg!!

Geraniums are the bomb. Almost impossible to kill. Plus they look this good almost year round.
The front yard is coming back nicely this year. Jacob has his blue Adirondack chair, and i have my pink, and since we live on a semi-culd-a-sac Burk just runs around the front yards do his crazy runs. The neighbors just laugh.

A New Addition to the Kitchen

I just got this fun little thing-a-ma-jig at Tuesday Morning. Super cute for $19 bucks huh?! I have been sticking fruit in it, but i found these mossy rocks the other day at Target.
I love that spring is here in full force! I have been able to pick so many different flowers from the yard and bring them inside. I also love our little 6 bottle vase set that we got as a wedding present (i believe from Jordan and Lori, thanks!!!)

And Next on the To Do List...

We love spending time in the back yard, although its tiny and super beat up by Burk. We eat out on the patio almost everyday with the weather like it is, but we just wish we had a little more space. Burks food, water, bed, and bones are cramping our style on the 15'x8' concrete pad. So, Ive been thinkin of expanding the patio out some, without making it take all our sod away for Burk to tan in.
Do not judge me. Its Saturday, the yard will be mowed today. I swear.

So, let me put my work programs to work. Burk, i apologize you will be covered up in the photos.
I think this opens up the area so much.  I want to keep it simple, dont need anything fancy. Sawcut Limestone, so its level. Hop to it! Too bad we have Easter this weekend, and then weddings the rest of the month (not that im complaining about that at all. I love me some weddings!!) Cant wait to get started!
