Weekend Inspirations

Just been drooling over my old Pinterest pins this morning. I would love to a professional Pinterest-er. Hmm, one day maybe?
Here are a few i have been swooning over. The plan: Tackle them all. We. Will. See.
Curtain Tieback- Ribbon and a Flower. Simple and chic.

5 pieces of wood, some nails and pain. Love it.

Maps: Where you met, where you went on your honeymoon, where you live now.

A frame and paper. A romantic tray for my vanity.

I. Freaking. Love.

Round 2.

A few months back, you may remember a project i was playing around with, my antlers. I had seen a really neat idea out in Marble Falls and i did my best to attempt it (here). Well, unfortuanly i made the cover too heavy, and it just wouldnt stay on. So, round 2. Again with the burlap, sorry its really starting to become an addiction.
The original.
Not sure why the photo will not rotate for me. Sorry.
My first attempt.
And my more successful, second attempt!

Just modge podged some fun paper on the wood, wrapped my skull bone (ew sorry) in the burlap while leaving a small piece which would hide the metal clasps which hold everything together, hot glued the hiding portion of the burlap and then hot glued on my broach. Done! I do like round 2 much better.

AND...its pink!

Did I make it look like its for an 8 year old??
I do kinda love it though! Just need Jacob to hang it..."JACOBBBB!"

Just Needs a Paint Job

So, after a long, exhausting trip up to Green Bay, WI, my in-laws schelpped back to Texas a U-Haul full of my mother-in-laws parents valuables. Much to my surprise, they had a few presents for us! One of them was a wonderful chandelier that Jacob's grandmother was very proud of, and i was so blessed to have been given it. I am so excited to give it a little paint job and install it in my office.

Spray painting in a few...wish me luck!

Photo Wall: I'd Say 99% Complete

I keep saying Im done with the photo wall in the guest bedroom, and then i keep finding frames/projects i need! Yesterday, Jacob was stuck in Houston working until 10...which lead to me being very bored on a Friday night. So, I went over to Hobby "sucks all the money out of my wallet" Lobby, and looked for a project. My sister is a Modge Podge-a-holic, which has led to me picking up the habit. Last nights project: Modge Podge Picture Frame. What do you think? Literally took me 15 minutes to make.
Bought the plain wooden frame, painted the sides teal, cut out the paper, modge podged, hot glued on a burlap flower and then glued on a fun little tool-thing-a-ma-bob i found on sale, ta da!

Photo Wall
Frame, with some pretty paper and a bird cage sticker.

I could not be more happy that it is Saturday. Hope you ENJOY it!!

Sprucin' Up the Bathroom

So, as all my blog posts seem to start out, I found this chandelier at a little antique mall here in town. Two trips around the mall, and $80 later, I walked out with a stinky old chandelier  that has all the wires cut out of it. Oh no, what did I just do!?! First thing I do is call Jacob, “Guess what I just got! I cant wait to get home from work!” I think by now he knows the easiest answer is “Great, I’m glad you like it, where would you like me to put it?” So, who doesn’t dream of having a chandelier over their bathtub, right? So, Saturday morning Jacob got up and ran over to Home Depot, without me even having to ask, to get the little hangy-mo-bob for the ceiling. Best hub-ster ever. So a few “What the ****,”  “Hey, get my phone and call my dads” and just plain “****”  later we/he have hung the chandelier. We wait. It hasn’t ripped out the ceiling yet. And we wait. YEA, success!!
The before photo. I was trying to get my chandelier fix from the cheap picture, but it just wasnt cutting it anymore.
Waiting for its big debut (is that how you spell it? Julie i need your help).
Stud.
And drum roll please....
Whoop! Last night i HAD to take a bath, just to soak it all in. I did worry there for a second that it might fall and crush me while i was in the tub, but then a few more sips of wine, and the thoughts were all gone!
No, this project is not quite finished. This chandelier really need some TLC. The beads are gross, i need some candles, and there may be a paint job in the near future, but i am just so excited to have a chandelier over my bathtub, that its just going to have to work right now!
